That which has been possible in the past remains viable moving ahead, but it is necessary to engage foresight rather than cling to infantile idea and emotion.  

Week 22 5/31/20

Foresight demands contemplation as well as action.

That which is empty overcomes that which is full, and there is always a place for happiness and diversion.

Week 21 5/24/20

Cultural reforms must cross all boundaries.





Both the Fine Arts and the Popular Arts must be addressed if they are to move in culturally viable directions.  This includes all perspectives-- artistic, religious, social, historical, ad infinitum.

Academic fields are fraught with both absurdity and a kind of spurious gravity.

As there are opportunities to move beyond these limits they should be taken, but first they must be discovered.  It is necessary to carry on the search until there is change.  

Real change.

As artists let us resolve to elevate our thinking:

In doing so let us align our emotional perspectives with reality, share all that which is good, and strive for excellence in every way.

Emerge, develop, refine.

Repetition dulls sensory awareness.

In trying times, faith and love carry the day. Expand your thinking.

Where there is wisdom, let it be shared.

Where wisdom is missing, let it be sought by every right means.  This is understanding of life, and of culture.

What one may experience, one may more honestly express.

Even the infinite may be grasped within limits, and thus given form.

Music and culture merge in expression of life experience. Ideas must be realized in action.

In living memory the arts were without fear, and by virtue of this they were free, and freedom of thought was not suppressed by cultural forces as it is now.  Challenge the accepted to bring change.

Belief shapes perception, each influencing and directing the other.

Thus creative thought is constructive, oriented through foresight gained by continual effort.

Consider outcomes and move toward them.

Week 6 2/9/20

Vision centers consciousness, and expands both.

Observe cultures that are unified by shared visions, in contrast with those that fail.

Week 5 2/2/20

Expression is representation.

Grasp the real, give freely of the truth.

Week 4 1/26/20

Cycles are continuous, and dynamic.

Things move ahead, go far afield, and return to their origins.

This is a truth of life, and of art.

Week 3 1/19/20

Choose to move forward.

Advance in idea and in action. This is an individual choice, with rewards and consequences.

Week 2 1/12/2020

Real individual freedom demands discipline and a sense of duty to last beyond the mere moment.

The artist must transcend those things that culture and society refuse to move beyond.  False values, collective conformity, failed philosophies-- all these are obstacles that must be overcome.

Dismiss the subjective.

Observe and give due consideration to the surroundings. 

Deny false perspectives and they become obvious.
