Thought Patterns

Mind, memory, and the unconscious continually yield imagery and ideas.


The fact that these concepts and sensory impressions are not only visual and verbal should not be neglected or taken for granted. It must be remembered that receptivity to auditory impressions calls for conscious, contemplative efforts.

The composer's aural palette is of little consequence if one fails to associate sounds with cognitive reason, intuition, depth of feeling, and primal meaning.
